Victoria Van Ness is a fashion and beauty blogger from Atlanta, Georgia, who knew she always wanted more. So she left the standard path of life to travel the world at the young age of just 18 years old. From seeing beautiful cities all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe, she felt inspired by all of the various ways women dressed and developed a style sense of her own. She took to blogging to share her personal fashion and travel experiences. Since starting VictoriaVanNess.com, she has relocated and settled down in New York City. Her self-titled blog now showcases style posts, beauty regimes, some of her favorite eats, and inspirations.
Discover NYC and Brooklyn through Victoria’s eyes!
Best spot for a mani-pedi: The Essie Flagship salon, in the Upper East Side.
Best hair salon or blowdry bar: The Caravan Stylist Studio. They are a secret gem!
Favorite brunch spot: Jacks’ Wife Freda, an all-day bistro executing American-Mediterranean cooking.
Favorite dinner spot: Seamore’s, a sustainable seafood restaurant in NoLita.
Best Instagram-ready plates: Easy… By Chloe!
Favorite cafe/juice bar: Summer’s is a tiny juice bar in Soho. They’re a simple place. Simple menu, simple ingredients, simple decor. It’s got a Cali Vibe, with good music, but nowhere to sit. I like to stop in there some mornings before I head to work and get the ginger and orange shot! It really kickstarts my day.
Favorite fitness studio: I’m not very trendy (or athletic) when it comes to this stuff, but I’m into Higher Dose, an infrared sauna.
Favorite area to shop: Soho!
Favorite Local Store: The Apartment By the Line, a furniture/decor store that is set up like an actual apartment. It’s truly all of the “goals.”
Favorite local brand: Fortune & Frame, an NYC-based jewelry line known for its signature fortune-holding lockets & frames, fortune cookies, and other inspired pieces.
Favorite department store: I love Lord & Taylor! I’m so glad I finally got introduced to it since moving to NYC.
Must-sees: Grand Central Station and Fly By Night, a public artwork project which featured a massive flock of pigeons elegantly twirling, swooping, and gliding above the East River, as creator Duke Riley orchestrated a series of performances occurring regularly throughout late spring.
Top of the Met, @victoriavanness
Something people might not know about NYC: In Grand Central station, if you whisper into opposite archways, you can hear the other person!
Best place to enjoy the summer sun: I love taking a break in Washington Square Park. It’s right by the office, so if I need a little bit of sun, I’ll escape to there for a few minutes.
Best museum: The Whitney Museum in the Meatpacking District.
Favorite show: Paramour, the new Cirque du Soleil show on Broadway!
